Shadowkeep – Game Voyagers

Destiny 2 is always coming out with new paid DLCs that most people might get annoyed at because you need to pay money just to get farther into the game. With Destiny 2, I have been there since the beginning and I even pre-ordered the game. With all the DLCs coming out, the newest DLC is called Shadowkeep, but is it worth buying? And how does it compare to the other parts of the game? How is the story? Shadowkeep introduces a new Story Campaign and a patrol zone on the Moon. New activities include a raid, the Garden of Salvation, a dungeon, the Pit of Heresy, a horde mode public event, the Altars of Sorrow, and strike-like missions, the Nightmare Hunts. Eris Morn and the Lectern of Enchantment are the new vendors, both can be found on the Moon, although the latter has to be unlocked by playing the story. New Nightfall type, the Ordeal is a challenging version of a strike, featuring special Champion enemies which can be defeated with the use of certain Seasonal Mods, and a large number of modifiers that make the activity even harder. There are several difficulties, each has a certain power requirement. How long is it? It is actually very short. There is not that much to the DLC, but all the content that is in it currently is definitely fun. It takes about 6 hours for you to bet the main campaign, and after that, there are a ton of new quests and gear to collect. If you want to get everything out of the DLC, it will probably take 30-40 hours so it is up to you what you want to do. How much content does it add? With the new Armor 2.0 system, Armor Perks are gone and the players themself decide which benefits they receive from their gear with the use of Mods. All armor now drops with randomized stats and elemental types, the latter determines which Mods a piece of armor can use. Special Universal Armor Ornaments can be applied to any Legendary armor piece obtained after Shadowkeep's release. Weapon Mods are no longer consumable, just like the new Armor Mods. When the player obtains a Mod, it is unlocked in their collection and can be used on any appropriate piece of gear without being consumed. Three more character stats are added to the game: Discipline, Intellect, and Strength. A character's Discipline determines their grenade recharge rate, Intellect determines their Super recharge rate, and Strength determines the melee ability recharge rate. Additionally, all stats now go from 0 to 100. Armor is now Masterworked using new materials: Enhancement Prisms and Ascendant Shards, which can be obtained mainly from Nightfall strikes. Are there new enemies? No, there are no new enemies added to this DLC, which is a bummer, because the Scorn in Forsaken was a great addition to the game. Yes, this DLC is mostly about the Hive, but I would have liked to see a ton more, new enemies. The enemies look a little different than the base game, but other than that, you are fighting the same enemies. I would say this DLC only really adds a new location to the game. How does it compare to the base game? Compared to the base game, I would say this DLC let me down. There is only one location added, the campaign is only six hours long, and it does not add that much to the game. Forsaken was absolutely amazing, but Shadowkeep is one of those DLCs where you should only buy it if you can get it for cheap. Also, if you are a huge Destiny fan, I would say get it because there is some nostalgia for the first game in this DLC. Is it worth it? No, it is not worth it unless you can find it cheap or on sale somewhere. Don't buy it at full price unless you know you will get many hours out of it. I personally won't say get the game, but it is up to you whether or not you want to get it or not. There is not much to the DLC, but find it cheap, then I would say yes to getting it.
