Just running around the game world makes you feel something that no other game has made me feel, and the graphics are absolutely stunning. If you are going to play it, I would recommend you do just because of how good it looks. Here are all the reasons that make Red Dead Redemption really good.

It has a great story
The story in Red Dead Redemption 2 is really long. I know that even though something is long, it does not mean it is good, but it is not the case with this game. The story just seems to draw you in even if you’ve never played the first Red Dead Redemption game. The best part of it is that since it is very good, it seems like there is always another story mission for you to play.
If you just play story missions, the campaign will take you about 50 hours to complete, which is including gameplay and cutscenes. Side Quests are not put into that mix because it takes a lot more time to complete the game 100%. I would recommend getting the game just for the story if you are not going to play any Side Quest.
It has hundreds of side quests
The Side Quests in Red Dead Redemption 2 don’t seem like Side Quests at all. Some times it is hard to determine whether a Side Quest is a story mission or not because of all the work put into them. They also make for some very good mini-stories as well since there are a lot of them. It seems like there is always something more to do, which makes playing the game much more exciting.
Each mission that you play brings a type of immersion that I’ve never experienced from a game before. There are tons more to do besides these Side Quests so you will basically never run out of things to do. Also, exploring the world is another main part of the game that you can do for fun as well.
Random occurrences make the gameplay more interesting
As you play the game, there will be random things that happen around the game world that can change up what you are doing. Sometimes, a family is getting attacked by wolves and you can choose to pass by or help them. You can be exploring and a group of outlaws will try to rob you. Anything can happen to you and you have the choice of how you want to react to them. Just remember that you have a meter that determines how good or bad you are depending on the choices you make.
Each time you do something bad, your meter drops down toward the red section and people will try to stay clear of you. If you do something good, your meter will increase towards the good section. It all depends on how you want to play. If you want to, you can play through the game twice and each time you play an entirely different way to see what it is like on both sides of the spectrum.
You can play with friends in Red Dead Online
Red Dead Online is a new addition to the series and it allows for you to play with other people in the world of Red Dead Redemption 2. You can free roam with friends, complete missions, go hunting, accept bounties, and much more. You can also upgrade your camp and horse, and also get a personal dog. Everything in Red Dead Online can be done with other people so make sure you get all your friends and go play some Red Dead together.
The way Online works is very different from the main game so keep that in mind when switching from the Singleplayer to Online. Also, you can choose where you want to start whether it be doing a mission or free-roaming in a certain area. Everything is laid out for you on the menu and it is very easy to use. I would recommend getting the game just for the Online mode if you are into that sort of thing.
The pros of the game
There are a lot of good things about the game like the amount of great content put into it and the huge world you can explore that makes you feel like each area you go to has been thought through and made really well by Rockstar games. Each time you are traveling to a new area, you always run into something and it makes you feel like the purchase you made was all worth it.
The best part of the game is how realistic everything is. From the environment to how the people act, it is just amazing. The world just feels alive to the player and everything you do determines how everyone acts toward you. There are a lot of weapons that you can use and each one of them feels different. The way you have to manually reload the weapons by pressing the fire button makes it feel more satisfying to get kills. This game is definitely worth it in the end.
The cons of the game
There are not that many things wrong with the game, but there are still a few things that you can’t avoid. Some of the missions seem to drag as you are riding because it has an NPC drive you and it is very slow. It makes up for being boring by having the characters talk to each other though. Also, the shooting feels a little bit clunky sometimes because of the slow pace that the game has, but that is how the game is so you really just have to get used to it.
Also, some people have an issue of how realistic everything is. Many people say that it is too realistic and they don’t like that about the game. I personally enjoy how realistic it is because it is what makes the game different from others. There are bugs in the game and it can crash randomly if you are a PC player, but other than that, there is nothing else wrong with the game at all.
The massive amount of content and replayability
As I have said before, there is honestly a lot of content put into this game that has you hooked on the game for hours at a time. Sometimes I say I am going to play the game for 30 minutes, but then I end up playing it for 2 hours because I get caught up in the story and gameplay soo much that I lose track of time. The replayability for the game is endless, and if you think you want to play the game again after you are done, then go right ahead and do so. It takes over a hundred hours to beat the game 100% so keep that in mind when starting a new game.
If you do start a new game, playing through it will be entirely different than your first playthrough because of all the different choices you have to make. All you have to do is play differently than your first playthrough and it will feel like you are playing a different game entirely.
The crafting system is very broad
There are a lot of things that you can make in the game and it is actually pretty hard to make everything. You can make special tonics that heal your health and energy, and you can also craft upgrades for your character with certain skins from animals. You can find flowers and all sorts of plants to use for special items and you can also find certain items in houses to make your much-needed items for survival.
Here is another article about the Red Dead Redemption 2, and in the article, it tells you about all the food items and what each tonic does to help you.
It’s extremely realistic
The realism in the game makes your jaw drop every time you play it. The graphics are absolutely stunning and just riding around the game world can make you wonder how the developers even created such a world. Basically everything about the game like the crafting and the people in the game, make for some great gameplay and what is the best part about it is that it basically lets you do whatever you want and go wherever you want to go.
You have to take care of your horse or else it will get angry and have less energy, and you have to keep your guns clean or they will break on you in the middle of a battle. You also have to keep yourself fed so you can have more energy and health. Rockstar did not hold back when it came to the realistic nature of this game.
Some people argue that the game is too realistic, but I’d have to disagree. I find that these few minor tasks help to make the game more immersive, and give you a break from robbing trains and shooting outlaws.
Conclusion
If you have not already played Red Dead Redemption 2, you absolutely should. Whether you are a console or PC games, the game is on both platforms. Just keep in mind that the PC version is currently a little buggy, so you just have to be patient with the game. Everything about the game is amazing, but what impresses me most are the graphics that are in the game. If you are going to play the game, do so because it just looks incredible. I would definitely recommend anyone to play this game.
