Raccoons in Red Dead Redemption

Raccoons are a common small-sized animal in Red Dead Redemption. They pose no threat to you and can be seen getting chased by other carnivores like foxes. You can hunt them for Raccoon Fur and Raccoon Meat. These items can be sold for some moolah!

These banditos are naturally nocturnal, even in the game, so you can expect to come across more from dusk to dawn. Their unique fur patterns, slower speeds, and distinctive sounds they make let you identify and target them more quickly than other animals in RDR.

They are a common occurrence while galloping across the map in both West Elizabeth and New Austin. However, the chances of finding more of them are higher in the Great Plains. Nevertheless, we will list below some sure-shot locations where you can find raccoons in Red Dead Redemption.

This will come super handy when you receive the Rank 6 Master Hunter Challenge, where you must kill and skin 5 Raccoons, 5 Foxes, and 5 Skunks.
