Hunt: Showdown is one of those underrated games. Not only has it been updated in the past few years, but there are constantly new updates for the game for the foreseeable future. If you don’t know what this game is, it is basically a game that has you going through a fictional time period where there has been a disease that turned everything into creatures.
Your job is to go around the world and hunt for clues as to where the bosses are on the map. Along the way, you will run into other people, creatures, and even animals that are all against you. It is a very hardcore game that takes patience and knowledge to be able to make it out alive. One major aspect of the game is the bosses that you find in every match.
There are usually 2 bosses that are randomly chosen for each match and the clues are always in new spots. There are a total of 4 bosses currently in the game and we will update this article if there are any more added to the game. You will need to find 3 clues for each boss and it will pinpoint where they are in the match.
It can be a bit tricky to defeat them, but we have put a list of all the bosses in the game and we are going to give you some tips on how to beat them. Keep in mind that the bosses aren’t the only things you will need to worry about when you are in a match.
How many bosses are in the game?
As we said before, there are 4 bosses in the game. It is not a guarantee that you will get specific bosses in each match because they are randomly chosen when you start a new match. The number of bosses in each match is determined by how many teams or players are with you in that match. The most we have seen in a single match was 3 different bosses.
You might like one boss but it is not guaranteed that you will get the one you want. Some are harder than others as we will tell you about later on in this article. If you enjoy these types of games, then you might enjoy this one since you don’t even have to fight anything to get out of the match. It is very hardcore, so be very cautious when you are playing in a large match.
What are the bosses in Hunt: Showdown?
There are currently 4 bosses that you can randomly get to fight in each match. As we said before, you don’t have to fight these bosses, but if you do, you will be heavily rewarded. Not only will you get experience from defeating it, but you can also extract the bounty and get even more experience. You will also get 10 seconds of hunter sight.
This hunter sight will allow you to see players through walls. They do have to be a certain distance from you, but it does give you a major advantage when it comes to people trying to ambush you. If you want, you could wait for someone to defeat the boss and kill them before they banish it. You can play however you want to.
Here are all the bosses in Hunt: Showdown and how to defeat them –
1. The Butcher
Difficulty: 4.5 out of 10
This boss is a culmination of a massive bloated body with a pig’s head on top. It also has hooks that can deal massive damage to you if you end up getting hit with them. It is actually the easiest of the bosses since it doesn’t really pose that much of a threat. There is apparently a ton of lore behind this creature, but we won’t go there, at least in this article.
What makes this boss difficult is its movesets. It has a bunch of moves it can use, but by far the worst move in its arsenal is the frenzy mode. This frenzy mode makes him run as fast as you, and it will be swinging its hooks. It will also leave a fire trail behind him making it difficult to traverse the arena without taking damage.
Weaknesses: Melee weapons, bombs, and crossbows deal a ton of damage. It is also extremely weak to any type of weapon that deals Bleed damage.
2. The Spider
Difficulty: 6 out of 10
This boss is by far the creepiest boss on the roster. Not only is it difficult because it is the fastest boss in the game, but it also deals poison damage when it attacks you. The poison is what makes it difficult, but if you take an antidote beforehand, you won’t have to worry about this boss too much. That is why it is not the hardest in the game.
It is very weak to fire so make sure you take plenty of Molotovs with you so you can take this thing out as soon as you can. Once you start the fight, you will want to kill it and banish it as soon as you can. It is fast, but if you don’t have to worry about the poison, it definitely makes this fight a lot easier. You will fight this boss a lot more than the others so be prepared.
Weaknesses: Molotovs and heavy melee weapons deal a ton of damage. Keep moving and attack when you get a chance and the boss will go down pretty easily.
3. The Assassin
Difficulty: 7.5 out of 10
This is probably the most unique boss since it is literally made out of bugs. It combines together to make a human-like form and then breaks apart to reappear somewhere else. It is a very difficult boss, especially if you are going at it alone. It is actually the boss that we have fought the least number of times. For some reason, the other three bosses spawn more often.
The boss is very weak to poison, but only if it is in the human form. When it is dispersed, it can be very difficult to hit. You will want to wait until it assembles itself again so you can go in for the hits. It is actually very easy to stun with melee weapons, but make sure you have enough time to do so before it disappears again.
Weaknesses: Basically any weapon that doesn’t deal Bleed damage is good against this boss. It is extremely weak to Poison damage so make sure you get your Poison bullets out for this fight.
4. Scrapbeak
Difficulty: 8.5 out of 10
This is the newest boss in the game and it is considered the hardest. What makes it difficult is its movesets. When it attacks you, it actually doesn’t hit super hard. What makes this boss hard just like the other bosses is its frenzy ability. This ability is annoying since it will actually drop barbed wire traps all around the arena.
The barded wire is extremely difficult to get rid of and it can drain your health faster than basically anything in the game. You will be cut off to certain sections and it could mean life or death depending on where it threw the barbed wire. Make sure to fight it with a friend since you will be able to coordinate where you go and split the damage in half.
Weaknesses: You can use pretty much any weapon to take care of this boss. Try to avoid bombs and fire, and the boss is extremely weak to Poison damage just like the Assassin.
What makes the bosses difficult?
The bosses themselves are hard, but what makes them even more difficult? The other players around you. When you start a boss fight, the shots from your weapons can be heard from a long-distance away. It will attract people and even monsters into the area and it will be extremely difficult to finally defeat the boss without any outside trouble.
It makes it even harder since you will have to banish the creatures once you defeat them. This can take a while and once you start the banishing, every player is alerted to it. That means all the teams will be heading in your direction. The plus side to this is the fact that you can see the enemies through walls once you pick up the bounty.
Do you have to defeat the bosses?
We said this before, but you don’t have to defeat the bosses. You can actually go through the game playing extremely passively. You will have to defeat monsters to get by them, but when it comes to the boss fights, you can always wait for another group to defeat the boss and you swoop in and take their trophy.
This is what makes this game soo good. You have a ton of different ways to play and each one is a very viable way. You can go for the bosses or you can hunt other players that have bounties. It is entirely up to you. The more risks you take though, the more rewards you will get if you extract out of the match. Just make sure you know what you are doing.
Will there be more bosses added to the game?
As of June 2022, there are currently 4 bosses in the game. The developers have said that there will be more bosses added to the game in future updates so make sure to keep an eye out for those. There are also going to be new maps, weapons, and even Legendary Hunters for you to get, so always look at the news for the game.
If you are thinking about getting the game, we would highly recommend it. If you are going to play solo, it is extremely difficult so we would recommend that you get the game with a friend so that you can coordinate in each match. It is very difficult for a solo player, but if you are up for the challenge, there is no reason not to get the game.
