If you’re tired of running out of arrows at critical moments, this guide covers the best ways to farm arrows so you’ll never be unprepared.

How to Farm Arrows in Tears of the Kingdom

There are many ways to farm arrows without spending a single dime. These methods might take a while, but once you get the hang of it, you will be able to gather a lot of enemies without wasting money, which you will be low on, especially in the early game. Here are all of the best ways to farm arrows in Tears of the Kingdom.

Crates, Barrels, and Boxes

Crates and Boxes

These are the most commonly found loot sources in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. You will find them almost everywhere around the world; many have arrows inside them. You will need to break open these boxes to reveal the loot.

You can use a weapon to break them open, or if you have unlocked the Ultrahand ability, you can pick up the box and drop it from a height to break it open as well.

These boxes do respawn after a certain amount of time, after you have traveled far enough from the location.

Goblin or enemy camps are places where these boxes almost always have arrows. If you come very late at night or early in the morning before the dawn breaks, you can find these enemies sleeping, making them an easy target.

Enemy Archers

Collecting From Archers

Another way you can farm arrows is with the help of a wooden shield and an archer enemy. These archer enemies have an infinite supply of arrows and usually don’t move around a lot. They sit in one place and shoot arrows at you.

For this trick to work, you will need a wooden shield in which an arrow gets lodged. No bounce off, not break, but gets stuck in the shield.

We suggest you grab a couple of them, find an archer enemy, and stand before them. They will start to shoot arrows, and if you are holding your shield button, the arrows will get stuck in the shield. As soon as you let go of the shield button, all the stuck arrows will be in your arsenal.

This process is relatively slow, and your shield can’t take infinite damage because after a certain number of arrows, your shield will break apart, and any arrows stuck in the shield at that point will be lost.

Zelda does prompt you that “your shield is badly damaged,” at which point you should consider putting it back and grabbing another one from the inventory.

Missed Arrows

Hinox Toenail

Any arrow that you shoot and miss, considering it did no damage, will fall onto the ground, and you will be able to pick it back up. So if you are in the battle and miss some of your shots in the heat of the moment, whenever it’s safe, you should pick the arrows back up.

This also works in the case of multiple arrows, as the middle arrow will fall on the ground if it is not damaged. If you are fusing your arrows with something, say Hinox Toenail, both items are recoverable if you don’t hit the target.

The only case where you can’t recover a missed arrow is if the arrow is fused with something that explodes on impact such as Chuchu Jelly. Other than that, you should always recover missed arrows.

Shrines

Entrance of the Shrines

Everytime you enter a shrine, you are stripped of everything and given a wooden bow and arrows at the very start. Once you have cleared a shrine, if you re-enter the shrine, there will be a bunch of arrows at the very start of the shrine.

You can pick them up and leave as you have already cleared the shrine once. These items respawn after a bit ( 2 hours by our estimate) once you are out of the world chunk of the shrine. You can keep fast traveling to other locations and come back to farm a lot arrows that way.

Battle Talus

Missed Arrows From the Archers

You will come across Battle Talus all around the map and on each one of these platforms of enemies, you will find one or two archers plus some other enemies. If you take out the non-archers and run at a distance from them, the archers will keep missing their shots, and as we know missed arrows can be picked up, keep running around in a circle so the archers keep missing their shots.

Pick up all of the arrows that are on the ground for nearly an infinite amount of arrows. One thing to note here is that after a certain number of arrows are on the ground, any arrows missed from that point onwards will vanish and you won’t be able to pick it up.

So don’t let the arrows stay on the ground forever. After every 5-8 arrows, pick them up and continue on with the farming.

Where to Buy Arrows in Tears of the Kingdom

If you are running low on time and are flush with rupees then instead of spending time farming arrows, you can also buy them. While not the most cost-effective method it is easily the fastest way to get a lot of arrows in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Here are two places you can buy arrows:

General Stores

Buy from the Shop

You can also find these General Stores in mid- to large-sized towns. You can recognize these stores with the Vase sign outside the store. These are also the cheapest places to buy arrows. You can buy a single arrow for 4 rupees and a bundle of 5 for 20

Every store has a limited supply of arrows that are replenished every 24 hours. One way you can speed up the process is by placing a Travel Medallion inside two or three of these stores. Buy all the arrows you can from all the stores then go back to some place you can sleep.

NOTE: You need to be out of the store’s world chunk for this to work

Sleep till the next day and revisit all the stores to buy arrows again. That way in a short period of time, you will have your desired supply of arrows.

Beedle

Buy from Beedle

If you are familiar with the Zelda franchise, you would know who Beedle is. You can find him at every stable in the game and at every place you find him, he will have some stuff to sell you and fortunately, this includes arrows as well.

Though the price is a bit steep as compared to General stores and the supply is also limited if you are in urgent need of arrows and for some reason, you can’t travel to a store, you can spend some extra bucks for a couple of arrows.

Beedle will sell you a single arrow for 6 rupees and a bundle of 5 for 30 rupees.

These are all the best ways to farm or buy arrows in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. There are other ways to gather arrows but these methods are arguably the most efficient. If something else floats your boat, then so be it, but if not, Happy Farming.
