How to Unlock the Dark Crusader in Lords of the Fallen (2023)

How to Unlock the Dark Crusader in Lords of the Fallen (2023)

Lords of the Fallen has nine classes to choose from. It also offers four secret classes that any player can access by completing a specific questline/ending or by purchasing the Deluxe Edition and Dark Crusader is one of them. Lets talk more about the Dark Crusader class in Lords of the Fallen.

You can simply unlock the Dark Crusaders Class by purchasing the Deluxe Edition of Lords of the Fallen. Or you can complete Paladin Isaac’s Questline where by defeating the boss you will get access to using Dark Crusader as a starting class.

Dark Crusader Secret Starting Class

Dark Crusader Class

Strength: 12
Agility: 8
Endurance: 14
Vitality: 14
Radiance: 11
Inferno: 8

This secret Class excels in Strength, Endurance, and Vitality and is focused more on a Strength Build. Additionally, players can benefit from its exceptionally high defense and withstand heavy blows from mid-level enemies/bosses. The Class stands out as a fearsome warrior appearance-wise.

The two advantages of the Dark Crusader Class, in my experience, are both close and long-range playstyles. For instance, you can equip the Throwing Hand to dish out explosive damage to enemies as ranged attacks.

On the other hand, the nifty long sword (Paladin Isaac’s Sword) can deal significant physical damage of 143 at +1 level. On top of that, I’ve noticed it can stun-lock most enemies, giving you a window of opportunity to strike hard.

If you had hard luck purchasing the Deluxe Edition, you can play Lords of the Fallen and complete Isaac’s questline to access the Dark Crusader Class.

Dark Crusader Weapon and Items:

  • Paladin Isaac’s Sword
  • Paladin’s Pendant
  • Umbral Lamp
  • Sanuinarix
  • Lampearer’s Rosary

Isaac’s Questline

Flayed Skin

You’ll be able to unlock your first Vestige point at Abandoned Redscope. Check your inventory for the item “Flayed Skin.” If not, you can obtain it from the area where you beat the tutorial boss. The next step involves your character to “Soul Flay” in different parts of the world.

Location of Stigmas:

  • Lower Calrath Depot
  • Fief of the Chill Curse (You’ll activate the Vestige of Svornil here)
  • Fief of the Chill Curse (The Hollow Crow)
  • Path of Devotion Memorial

You’ll obtain the Wooden Dark Crusader Cross after finding the first Stigma. Fief of the Chill Curse will unlock later in the game, and you’ll need to get the Fief Key by talking to Andreas of Ebb early on in the game. This Key will open the locked door in the Abandoned Redcopse.

Umbral Gate

Furthermore, you’ll need to unlock the Pilgrim’s Perch Key to access the Path of Devotion. Once you’re done, you’ll have to defeat Paladin Isaac Boss. In return, the Umbral-tinged Flayed Skin will be in your inventory, which you can use at the location where you found the Flayed Skin in the Abandoned Redcopse.

You’ll unlock the Umbral Gate, reach where Isaac died, and loot the corpse to receive Paladin Isaac’s Sword and armor. You haven’t unlocked the Dark Crusader Class yet!

Play the remainder of the game until you reach the Lightreaper in the Upper Calarth. You’ll need to summon Isaac and defeat the Lightreaper. Following and completing all the objectives, you can access the Dark Crusader as a Starting Class!
