Is Battlefront 2 Worth Playing Now?

When Battlefront 2 came out in 2017, I was absolutely thrilled to see what Dice had come up with. The trailers looked amazing, and it was everything I had hoped it would be. Besides the loot box controversy, people started to get annoyed with how the game required hours of grinding just to get a simple star card for a character. As the game progressed, the developers started to add more and more content that continued to improve the game. They made it easier to level up and get different blasters and they also added a lot more maps that fans were looking for. Here are the reasons that you should play Battlefront 2, and how it’s changed since initial release:

If you want to buy the game, check out this Amazon link for the game here.

The solid combat

The combat has not changed at all in the course of the game being out, but that is a good thing. That was all the game had going for it in the beginning because the combat in the game is actually amazing. If you did play the game in the beginning, you kind of know what I am talking about because other aspects of the game were not great. Everything was a huge grind to unlock and it felt like you were getting nowhere, but now, everything is polished. If they came out with the game like it is today, then it might be considered a better game in other people’s eyes. It has a bad reputation but if it did not have that, then it would be more famous than it is now.

The playable heroes and villains

There are tons of heroes and villains to choose from and plenty of game modes to play with them in it. From Darth Vader to Lando Calrissian, there are just soo many to play as. As the game progressed, more and more were added to the roster including, Obiwan Kenobi, General Grevious, Anikan Skywalker, Count Dooku, and also more coming in the future.

You can either play as them in your regular matches by earning points, or you can play the hero game modes that allow you to fight against other heroes. If you have ever played the first Battlefront, you would know about heroes versus villains. It is the same thing in the new one. Definitely worth a try if you like Star Wars.

The different classes to choose from

There are tons of classes to choose from and they all have an upgrade star card system for each of them. There are 4 main classes that you can choose from that you will be able to choose anytime, and there are 3 other classes that you can use if you get battle points during each match. Here are the four base classes that you get to choose from when you first start the game:

Officer – Officers use their Abilities to help everyone around them fight more effectively and directly affect the tactical situation by employing powerful automated weapons. Each class can equip Star Cards to modify and enhance their combat abilities.

Specialist – Striking from hiding, specialists rely on stealth and position to finish foes before they ever see a threat coming. Each class can equip Star Cards to modify and enhance their combat abilities.

Assault – Assault moves quickly and excels at overcoming defenders and taking positions. Each class can equip Star Cards to modify and enhance their combat abilities.

Heavy – The Heavy trooper isn’t quite as nimble as other classes, but he makes up for the lack of agility with toughness and raw power. Each trooper class can equip Star Cards to modify and enhance their combat abilities.

The star cards you can unlock

There are hundreds of Star Cards to unlock, and each class and hero you can choose have their own level system to unlock these cards. These cards are important because they increase your chance of survival and make it easier to do certain things. Som increase Battle Points while others change what secondary weapon you have. Some give grenades and others help teammates around you. It all depends on how you play. There are cards for everyone who plays so you won’t ever get bored. There is always something to upgrade.

The different Star Wars maps

There are soo many maps in the game that I can’t even count them. From the snowy planet of Hoth to the sandy planet of Tatooine, there are just soo many planets to play matches on. Not only are their maps on each planet, there are multiple maps of each planet so if you don’t like one map but enjoy the planet, there might be another map that you like on that same planet. Sometimes it might be hard to find a planet that you really like, but that does not mean that you shouldn’t play the game because of that. Recently, there have been a lot more people playing the game so you might have an easier time finding a map that you want.

The campaigns

There are 2 campaigns that you can play, but in my opinion, don’t play the game for the campaign because you might be disappointed. The main campaign can be beaten in 4 hours and the second one is shorter. It is just one of those things that were really hyped but not a lot of people enjoyed it. If you have the game, yes, you should play both of them, but it is not a very memorable part of the game. In my opinion, I got the game for the Multiplayer and the developers only put the campaign in the game because the first one did not have one. Don’t play the game for the campaign.

The great graphical optimization

The graphics and optimization are actually incredible with the exceptions of a few new maps. It is probably one of the best looking games that I have ever seen in my entire time playing Video Games and if you like graphics with higher frame rates, then you should look into playing this game. The textures and animations are very realistic and that aspect of the game brings the Star Wars trilogies to life. Just for the graphics alone is very easy to recommend to anyone that likes a Battlefield style game. Also, the maps are actually really well designed since there is soo many small things that are put into the maps that are easter eggs to the Star Wars.

The massive customization aspect

There are soo many ways to make your characters look different from costumes to quotes, it will never get old. Each era of troops that you use all different outfits to use and all the heroes also have them too. You can make Luke Skywalker look like he was on Hoth, or you can make him look like a Jedi master. Each Clone you have can be customized with different battalions, and there are just soo many. I feel bad because I don’t play the game as much as I should, but when I do, there is always something new to see and get.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Star Wars Battlefront 2 is a massive game whether you are playing in the Arcade, playing the campaign, or taking out AT-ATs in Walker Assault. There are soo many game modes to choose from that if you get bored with one game mode, you can just go to another one for a change of pace. If the game was not Star Wars, it would still be really good, but since it is, that makes the game ten times better than it normally would.

You can literally play as one of the people you wanted to be when you were little, who doesn’t want to do that? I would highly recommend playing this game if you haven’t already even if you did not play the first one. It is actually pretty cheap now so go get yourself a copy.
