Borderlands 3 is the game all of the Borderlands fans were asking for. The last game that 2k released was Borderlands Pre-Sequel, but in my opinion, it wasn’t as good as Borderlands 2. Since Borderlands 3 was released, it has been a success that has made many fans of BL2 happy.
Not only did it add new Vault Hunters, but a load of new mechanics and gameplay that the other Borderlands games lacked.
Borderlands 3 is absolutely worth it in 2022. Fans of Borderlands 2 will be happy to know that Borderlands 3 is just as fun, if not more fun than every other title in the series. The base game itself is worth it, and it gets even better when you add on the DLCs.

Is the game fun?
Yes, it very much is. There is a lot you can do in the game, whether hunting down a wanted criminal or helping out the locals in a town. From side missions to story missions, there is always something for you to do. 2K also implemented their system of the new game plus back through the use of True Vault Hunter Mode and Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode.
Another huge thing that made the game good is its endgame missions. I won’t say anything about that for spoiler reasons, but it is worth your time to beat the game just for that reason. The amount of enemies that the game has is incredible, and it seems that they took a little bit more time in this game to polish the enemies a lot more. To sum up, how fun the game is, I would play this game over all the other Borderlands games.
How long does Borderlands 3 take to beat?
You could put an unlimited amount of time into this game because of the replayability. To beat just the campaign alone, it will take you 30 hours of gameplay to beat. If you get into the game, you will want to play more. Not only will you play all the campaign and side missions, but you will also want to get 100% in your game. Also, if you are the type of person, you might want to even play through the game again with the harder modes.
You might want to try a different character to change up the gameplay for you, which means even more time in the game, so if you get this game, you will get your money’s worth out of it. You can probably get 100 hours out of a 100% complete playthrough with just one mode and one single character, so the best option is to beat everything and then either play another character or start the next mode.
How many planets can you travel to?
There are six places you can visit currently in Borderlands 3, and the season pass adds a lot more planets. As you play the main story, the game will take you to these different places so if you don’t want to see all the different planets in the game, skip this section. Here are all the planets currently in-game.
Sanctuary – Your main base where you can talk to characters, restock, and navigate to different planets. This is also the place where you can store items and occasionally play with the slot machines in Moxxi’s bar.
Pandora – A barely-habitable rock that the Children of the Vault have made their homeworld. Pandora’s searing-hot deserts, vicious wildlife, and burgeoning bandit population have proved too much for all who tried to tame the planet and exploit its resources.
Promethea – Home to the Atlas corporation headquarters, Promethea is a metropolitan world covered in futuristic towers of chrome and glass. A recent siege by Maliwan has turned the urban environment into a warzone, and Atlas CEO Rhys Strongfork is getting desperate.
Athenas – A misty, tranquil planet that has recently attracted the wrong kind of attention. Athenas is mostly uninhabited, save for a sect of monks known as the Order of the Impending Storm who made their home in the high peaks of the mountains.
Eden-6 – A backwater swampland of a planet and family home of the Jakobs clan. Eden-6 is covered by lush greenery and stagnant waters, dotted with occasional settlements and rusted hulks of crashed spaceships. Civilization has never fully taken hold here, and indigenous dangers, including ravenous Saurians and semi-sentient Jabbers, effectively rule the planet.
Nekrotafeyo – Believed to be a fairytale, Nekrotafeyo housed the Eridian civilization until its sudden disappearance. Relics and writings on the planet reveal that the planet’s entire population was sacrificed to power the Machine, which was used to incarcerate an ancient threat to the galaxy.
How does it compare to the other Borderlands games?
My personal opinion is that Borderlands 3 is the best game in the series. Going back to 2 or the Pre-sequel, it does feel very clunky and slower compared to the new one because of everything 2K has done.
In all honesty, Borderlands 3 feels like a Borderlands game because of the setting and the gameplay, it just adds a lot to the series in general. It continues the storylines of other characters from other games and even finishes certain people’s storylines. There is so much stuff packed into a game like this, and it will bring back many memories for those old-school Borderlands players.
Are there really over a billion guns?
Yes, to an extent. There are more than a billion gun modes in the game. Each weapon you get has a chance to come with an extra firing mode. No, not just semi-auto or single shot, more like the first fire mode is a regular pistol, but the second fire mode is a rocket launcher from the same gun! There are millions of guns that you can get, and each of them is very different from one others.
They even have guns with legs, just like the trailer said, which is amazing. I did not use those weapon types very much, but when I did, I had a lot of fun with them. There are also a ton of Legendary weapons for you to collect, and each of them has its special ability that goes with them.
How is the story?
The story is about the four Vault Hunters answering Lilith’s call for help. She wants them to help fight against the Children of the Vault in a war that will take you all over the galaxy. As you progress, you will open up many different vaults that will give you special items and abilities you did not have before.
The story in the game is very good and is worth playing. As I said before, the campaign is about 30 hours of gameplay, so you will not easily fly through it.
Singleplayer vs. Multiplayer
This is the main reason that most people play these types of games, to play with their friends. Borderlands 3 gives you the same option as the other games where you can either play by yourself or play with either 1, 2, or 3 other players. I bought the game saying I would play through it with another person, but I loved it so much that I played through it a lot faster than the other person did.
It all depends on what you want to do because it is a different experience playing alone versus playing with others. You can play however you want to because all the options are given to you as a player. Take advantage of these options because other games might not have it.
Is it worth a buy?
I highly recommend buying this game if you are into the Borderlands series. It is worth your time and money because it is a great game. I am always looking for a great game to play and when I find something like this, I am very pleased by everything about it. If you have the money and love Borderlands, get this game!
