1. Play with friends
Playing with friends or other people is by far the best way to experience Sea of Thieves. Not only can you get more things done with multiple people, but it is also a great way for you to level up your Companies at a very fast pace. The more people you have, the more activities you can do.
Plus, playing with your friends also makes the game more fun since you will forget about becoming a Pirate Legend and rely more on having a fun time with your friends. You will also have a better chance against other crews since they will have less of a motive to try and take your loot.
2. Complete the Forts
Forts are one of the best ways to get experience for all the different Companies in the game. They are difficult, but if you have the right people on your team that know what they are doing, then doing forts will actually be an easy task.
Forts aren’t easy in the slightest, but once you get the hang of each one, then it is just a piece of cake for you and your team. The rewards you get from them are ridiculous and they are constantly adding more things into the game that will better help your grind to become Pirate Legend.
3. Bring a bunch of Voyages with you
Voyages are the main way to earn experience in the game. They aren’t easy, so make sure you are prepared for each one. You obviously don’t need to finish the Voyage if there are too many maps, but you do need to turn the treasure that you get into their respective Companies.
You can hold a total of 3 voyages on you at all times, so make sure you stay up to date on what voyages you have. Plus, if you buy a Promotion within a company, you will have to purchase new voyages since the voyages you purchased aren’t up to par with your level in the Company.
4. Don’t focus on becoming Pirate Legend
The biggest issue most players have with the grind to becoming Pirate Legend is the time it takes to do it. It will take the average person around 200 hours to reach Pirate Legend and that is if they are doing what they need to do.
It can be frustrating, but it is going to be better for you to not focus on becoming Pirate Legend. If you don’t focus on it, you can focus on having fun with the game. If you aren’t having fun with a game, there really isn’t a reason that you should play it. Play the game and have fun.
5. Make sure you buy the Promotions for each Company
If you didn’t know, every five levels you go up in a Company, their shop will unlock a special section called Promotion. What this does is give you access to higher-tiered Voyages. You do need to buy them with Gold, but it is always a cheap price.
The mistake a lot of new players make is to not buy the Promotions. You will get better rewards for each voyage and the loot will be a bit better as well. It takes a lot to level up each company, but once you do, it will be totally worth it in the end.
6. Purchase levels with Doubloons
Doubloons are a currency inside the game that is only received when you complete milestones. These milestones include defeating certain creatures, exploring certain areas, and completing specific stories within the game. They are pretty easy to get so don’t waste them all.
Once you get this currency, you can go to the Black Market and purchase single levels for any of the companies in the game. This is by far the easiest way to level up. Keep in mind though that you only can purchase one level every once and a while. You can’t rely on this method to level up.
7. Play with Pirate Legends
This is by far one of the best ways to level up to Pirate Legend. All you have to do is play with Pirate Legends. It seems easy, but finding Pirate Legends who are willing to let a low level onto their boat is going to be difficult.
The best way to find players with that status is to go into Sea of Thieves discord servers or even talk to Sea of Thieves content creator discord servers and find people who are willing to help. There are going to be a ton of people out there looking for players, so why not go and find those people.
Why should you become Pirate Legend?
As we said before, if you become Pirate Legend, you get access to a bunch of new things to buy and achieve. You will get access to Voyages called Athena Voyages which will reward you with a ton of Gold if you complete them. You will also get access to a shop only Pirate Legends can visit and buy items from.
Reaching the milestone is the biggest thing you can do in the game besides completing all the mini-stories that they have. If you don’t really care about becoming a Pirate Legend, then you don’t really have to focus on becoming one.
There are a lot of people, including us, who play a lot of other games and don’t have the time to get to the Pirate Legend status. We just play the game every once and a while and enjoy the game for what it is. Those who want to spend a ton of time doing it, have every right to do so.
