Minecraft has become much more than a simple game at this point. With it expanding its reigns on educative platforms, the game is only expected to come packaged with the core functionality.
However, being available on such a wide array of platforms also comes with risks. You can’t do much if the game cannot run across multiple platforms.
The Minecraft Bedrock Edition is playable on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Mobile Devices. This also includes next-generation compatibility, enabling platforms like PS5 and Xbox series X and S to play with Mobile.
There are a necessary set of limitations that can enable one to play across the mentioned platforms. However, they are rather timid, so unless you’re entirely new to Minecraft, there shouldn’t be a problem.
How Does Crossplay Work in Minecraft
“Crossplay” indicates you can play with your friends on any platform. For example, a friend playing on an Xbox can play with a friend on Nintendo Switch and vice versa; that being said, the game grants you the ability to play your games on one device and continue the progress on another.
In essence, cross-platform / crossplay allows you to play an instance of the same game repeatedly on different platforms without starting from scratch. Add all this to the fact that this instance can be played with friends on different platforms, and you have a complete experience.
Minecraft PE Mobile and PS4 Crossplay
As mentioned, the game will run like a charm on any platform if you have an initial active internet connection to sync the data. Furthermore, you will need to add each other to the same account. Once done, you can see your friend in the Friends menu.
From here onwards, just a simple invite will do the trick, and you can play Minecraft PE Mobile on the same server as your PS4 friends. You can only invite up to 4 people; this mechanic isn’t limited to mobile and PS4 alone.
Therefore, we recommend you experiment with it until you find your sweet spot.
Joining Realms
For those new to the term, realms are Minecraft servers that stay online for as long as the game/service is alive. That being said, they are accessible in the Friends Tab and can be joined by getting an invitation from the realm creator.
You will need to be on their friends list to get the invite. Therefore, make sure to do that beforehand.
All in all, Minecraft is a diverse and interesting game that never ceases to be amazing. All you have to do is play with your friends; the fun will seem limitless. That being said, the Minecraft online ecosystem works mostly on the Friends mechanic. Therefore, we recommend you connect with people to get the most out of this game.
