The Best Way to Level Up Solo in Borderlands 3

The Best Way to Level Up Solo in Borderlands 3

There are a lot of people out there like me that wanted to play through Borderlands 3 by themselves, but it is not as hard as you think it is. It takes more skill to do because you have to play the game slower, but it makes it fun. In my opinion, the most fun part of the game is how you can basically do everything whenever you want to. If you want to get the most out of one playthrough, you must complete all the main story first so you can activate Mayhem mode. Doing this allows you to get amazing rewards from missions that are even starter missions. But to get to this point, you must play through the game. Here are some tips on how to play solo in Borderlands 3.

Have a variety of weapons to preserve ammo

The best thing you can do is to have as many different weapon types equipped as you can so your ammo does not easily run out. If you have all 4 of your weapon slots unlocked, then have an SMG, Assault Rifle, Pistol, and a Rocket Launcher equipped at the same time so that you don’t have a gun that uses the same ammo. If you don’t have that many weapon types, try to last as long as possible until you can get other weapons. The farther you get into the game, the more weapons will be found by you. If you can, try to et a Legendary as soon as possible because they can really help at the start of the game. Also, having a huge variety of weapons will change up how the game is and you will never get bored.

Take advantage of Fight for your Life

Source: Fandom Wiki

Fight for your life has been in every single Borderlands game and it is actually pretty helpful. When you die, you get a second chance at life. If you can manage to get a kill while you are down, you will be revived. You won’t be at full health, but you will at least get another chance to survive and keep the progress you currently have in a mission or on a boss. It is most helpful when you are playing solo just because you have no other people to help revive you. If you get the chance to do it and there is an enemy, take advantage of it to keep yourself alive.

Go into any fight slowly

When going into a battle, make sure you find a spot where you can take out all the enemies. You have to find a spot where you can have a good vantage point to where you won’t take too much damage, but at the same time be able to defeat the enemies as quick as possible. I know with boss fights that is unavoidable, but those are done totally different from the rest of any battle you can fight. Make sure you have good enough weapons, and that the position you are in gives you an advantage over the enemies in the area or else you might die. If you do get downed, at least you have a chance to get back up again.

Choose the best elemental damage for each fight

Source: Fandom Wiki

You might be tempted to just use your favorite weapons for every fight, but it is better to use the best elemental damage weapons for each fight you go into. If the enemy is electric, don’t use an electric weapon because you will do a lot less damage than you would with a fire weapon. It is all about what weapons you use at a certain time and how you use them. Don’t be afraid to use a weapon that you are not used to because you can always get better with it and it might do more damage to a certain enemy later on in the game. Also, keep switching between weapons during fights because it keeps you from losing too much ammo in one section. It might get a little expensive to buy ammo if you use up a whole section of ammo.

Use everything you have to your advantage

If you have something that you need to equip, make sure you equip it because everything you get can help you on your journey. Try to find the best grenade you possibly can and if you have a class mod, then equip that as well. Make sure you are leveling up your character also, so you can be ready to face anything that comes your way. Also, look around the world because there are always barrels and different items around that can help you take out many enemies because of explosions and other things. Make sure you are being observant of your surroundings.

Use FL4K as your character because of his pet

FL4K is probably the best character to choose if you are going to be playing solo just because he has a pet that helps fight your enemies. Later on in the game, you can get a skill point that allows your pet to revive you if you are down, the perfect thing for people who will play by themselves. I would highly recommend an FL4K build because he is also really good against all enemies. He is also really good against bosses since he has the ability to do critical damage with a special ability. With that, you might be able to upgrade your pet to, and you have 3 pets to choose from. You could either mix the three builds or you could focus on one. It does not really matter. Just play the way you want to play.

Make the best character build

Source: Fandom Wiki

There are thousands of different builds that you can go for and that is just for one single character. There are 4 different characters to choose from, but in my opinion, FL4K is the best choice for solo play. Always put your skill point into something when you level up because it makes you one step closer to being the ultimate vault hunter. Look up online what the best builds are for each character and how to implement them into your playthrough. Most of the other people who are Borderlands veterans will know exactly what to do so make sure you listen to them.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the best way to level up solo in Borderlands 3 is to keep playing the game as normally as you usually do. Beat the story mode first and then do everything else after the fact because you actually get more experience from doing everything after. Every time you find something, be patient and wait because you will get more from the activity if you do it during Mayhem Mode. Borderlands 3 is not that hard of a game, you just have to watch where you are going and keep your distance from the enemies so you can easily pick them off.
