Witcher 3 is perhaps the best Open World RPG to have been released in the past decade or so. CDPR made sure that the Witcher 3 feels like a fleshed-out RPG with meaningful narrative choices as well as merchants who you can buy and sell weapons, armor, and other goods from.
You can sell your weapons to any Blacksmith around the massive open world of Witcher 3. Blacksmiths in different regions offer different prices for your weapons based on the overall financial condition of that region.
This detailed guide is going to talk about some of the best early, mid and late game Blacksmiths you can find in the Witcher 3 to whom you can sell your weapons.
We will be going over their locations, unlocking requirements (if any), and also tell you when should you go to them. So, let’s get into it.
Sell Weapons to Blacksmiths in Witcher 3
Before we start talking about the best Blacksmiths in the game, let’s discuss why you should sell your weapons to them in the first place. In Witcher 3, selling an item, weapon, or armor to the appropriate vendor can give you up to a 20% higher price for that item.
Even though this guide is strictly about selling weapons, below, you’ll be able to see a handy chart that specifies which items should be sold to which vendor and what kind of bonus they provide.
Keep in mind that this chart applies to the Vendors you will encounter before starting the Blood and Wine DLC. ( The best and richest vendors are found in Toussaint, but that is for late-game players)
Another very important tip to note is that if any vendor in the game runs out of money, you will have to wait 6 days before they can restock their coin to its maximum value. You can meditate 6 times in a row to speed up the process.
That is why we recommend that you always sell your weapons to Blacksmiths. With that out of the way, let’s discuss which Blacksmiths are the best for you during the early, mid, and late game, and why.
Best Early and Mid-Game Blacksmiths
Here are some of the best Blacksmith you can visit and trade with during the early and mid hours of your adventures in the Witcher 3:
This region has some of the best vendors in the entire game and that’s due to the good financial conditions and a bustling city to support businesses. Here are the best blacksmiths you can find in Novigrad:
Master Blacksmith – Hattori
You can find this Master Blacksmith just north of the Port Side gate in Novigrad City. To unlock this vendor, you first need to complete this associated quest, which is a Level 24 side quest called “Of Swords and Dumplings”.
He should be your priority Blacksmith during the early and mid-game as he offers the best rates and items in the base game.
You will visit Skillige after you’ve been through Novigrad and leveled up a bit. This region houses some pretty vicious monsters and is quite wealthy as well, due to the castles and forces in the region.
Journeyman Blacksmith – Kaer Trolde
Go to the Kaer Trolde castle and make your way to the northern battlement to find this Blacksmith. He is across the bridge, towards the west of the signpost. His wares and rates are the best in all of Skillige.
Let’s assume that you’ve made your way to the Blood and Wine DLC of Witcher 3 and are ready to head over to The Duchy of Toussaint. Well, the good news is that the vendors in this region are meant for the end game and carry the best wares in the entire game.
The bad news is that if you are under level, this area will cause a lot of problems for you and survival will become quite difficult.
Lazare Lafargue – Grandmaster
You can find this vendor in Beauclair City; the capital of Toussaint. He has set up shop towards the northern side of the Nilfguardian Sign Post. You will have to complete his side quest to promote him to the rank of Grandmaster and increase the quality of his wares. He is the best weapon vendor in The Witcher 3.
Journeyman Blacksmith – Tourney Grounds
Another very able Blacksmith you can find in the Tourney Grounds of Toussaint. This vendor does not offer good as Lazare but if money is sort of an issue for you, then you can rely on his services. He will offer you decent rates for your weapons.
Journeyman Blacksmith – Arthach Palace Ruins
Go to the northern side of Toussaint until you locate the ruins of a palace. This small establishment has a grinding stone and a Blacksmith also works nearby.
You need to kill all the bandits in the area during the side quest “Knights for Hire” for the Blacksmith to spawn and start his work. His rates and goods are also top quality and can be sold on any weapon you have on you.
These were some of the best Blacksmiths you can find and sell your weapons to in The Witcher 3. There are plenty more in the game but we’ve handpicked the ones that offer the best rates for your weapons and have the best inventory as well.
