Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has just been released and players are having a field day with it. With many players already scouring every inch of the game for all the content, there is a rising hope that the developers will add more DLC to the game to further scratch the Star Wars itch that this game scratches. So the question is will Star Wars Jedi: Survivor have any DLC?
As of right now, there are no plans announced from Respawn Entertainment to add any DLC to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. They could potentially reveal it later down the line, but as of yet, there is nothing scheduled.
This article goes over all the information we currently have regarding any future DLC plans for Star Wars Jedi Survivor.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor DLC Plans
If you are the one who completed every side activity in the game, defeated every optional boss, explored every nook and cranny of each planet, and collected all the best drips the galaxy far far away has to offer then you must be clamoring for more Star Wars Jedi adventures.
Unfortunately, Respawn Entertainment hasn’t yet disclosed if they even plan on releasing a DLC for this game. If they are working on a DLC then we shouldn’t expect the news to be broadcasted any time soon since they are working hard at fixing the pathetic release of the PC port.
There are hints in the game that suggests we are not completely done with Cal’s storyline. Whether this be in the form of DLC or a whole new entry is yet to be seen (more on this later).
EA has the tendency to capitalize on the success of a series so it wouldn’t come as a surprise if Jedi: Survivor does end up getting a DLC later on in its life.
Did Jedi: Fallen Order get any DLC?
To keep our curiosity in check, let us look at the previous game in the series Jedi: Fallen Order. The prior game did not get any DLC to this date.
At least there weren’t any significant story additions however the game did receive a free update that included New Game+ mode and some bits and bobs.
Looking at this we could potentially assume that Jedi: Survivor will take a similar route. You can anticipate some smaller additions to the game but nothing too drastic.
DLC or Sequel?
As mentioned above, Cal’s adventure seems to be ongoing, and there is enough lore surrounding it that a minor DLC won’t be able to resolve it.
When talking to IGN, Stig Asmussen, The Game Director, mentioned that he always wanted to make this into a trilogy, just like every other Star Wars project. He also hinted that instead of using the older Unreal Engine 4 they will now go for the stunning Unreal Engine 5 for the next one.
Whether this news totally rejects the idea of ever getting a DLC since the game is intended in a certain way or whether there are some side stories that can still make their way into the latest game is anyone’s guess. We can only wait and see what the EA Empire has in store for us.
According to the current reality, there is no DLC coming to this game. According to the previous game in the franchise, there are no trends of DLC being added later on. Hearing the game director talk about a trilogy also states that DLC won’t be forthcoming.
Of course, we will be ignoring the writing on the wall since when was the last time that we got some good Star Wars media to drool over?
