Here’s The Best Volatile Farming Location In Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands

Here’s The Best Volatile Farming Location In Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands

If you have finished the main storyline in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, and now want to wield the most powerful equipment in the game then this guide is just for you.

Volatile Gear is the strongest equipment that can be obtained in the game. This type of gear gives massive boosts to damage and has an exceptionally rare chance to drop. With that said, the best Volatile farming location is the Aphotic Trench found in the Drowned Abyss.

However, without an understanding of what Volatile Gear is and why it is necessary to farm it, you can quickly get pretty lost. So let’s break things down.

Volatile Gear

As we stated earlier Volatile Gear is the most powerful equipment that can be obtained in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. It is one among two types of gear made available at the end, the other being Chaotic gear. Where Chaotic Gear is stronger than the average weapon you will find in-game, Volatile weapons are simply in a league of their own. This is because, unlike Chaotic gear, Volatile gear can increase the weapon damage and other stats by an incredible 41 percent

Type of EquipmentBonus
Chaotic Gear19%
Volatile Gear41%

The way to differentiate a normal weapon from a Chaotic or Volatile weapon, besides checking its stats, is by observing their name. A normal “Liquid Cooling of Nerves” would read just that without any addition. However, as showcased above, the Volatile version would read, “Volatile Liquid Cooling of Nerves.”

How to Obtain Volatile Gear

The way to obtain Volatile Gear is kind of complex. Essentially, a Volatile Piece of equipment randomly drops whenever you clear a Chaos Chamber Run, or when you play the game on Chaos Mode. This is a random chance, which is a measly 1.41% and only occurs if you are playing at Chaos Level 20 which is also the max level.

Why Farming For Volatile Equipment Quickly is Important

It is quite understandable that you will be at the end of your patience when farming for Volatile Weapons. This is due to Volatile weapons are only being obtainable after a harrowing gauntlet of 20 Chaos Levels. The fact that you have to also farm Chaotic weapons to even stand a chance at completing the higher Chaos Levels makes this an even more grueling endeavor. And this is precisely why we believe obtaining Volatile gear as fast as possible is not just important, but even necessary.

The Best Volatile Farming Location

The best spot to farm Volatile Gear is at the Drowned Abyss in the area called the Aphotic Trench. The specific area that players must spawn into is near the puzzle in the center of this map area. This area is specifically full of Badass Monsters, which is the variant that has the highest likelihood of dropping Volatile gear.

After all of the Badass monsters have been defeated in this area and picking up the dropped loot, players can quickly save and quit to the main menu, and reload the area. By doing so they will respawn all of the defeated monsters, allowing for them to infinitely and quickly farm out these monsters in order to obtain their required Volatile equipment.

You must remember to have Chaos Mode enabled though and to be playing on Chaos Level 20, or else the chance for a Volatile weapon to drop will be zero.

The endgame in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is all about chasing loot. First, the Chaotic gear and then later the Volatile gear. So far we’ve highlighted this location as perhaps the best to farm out this powerful equipment, but who knows with more time in the game we might figure out even better spots and far more efficient methods too!
