10 Things To Do After Beating Metaphor: Refantazio

Here is a list of the top 10 things that you can do after completing the main story in Metaphor ReFantazio:

1. Complete All Side Quests

Metaphor ReFantazio Side Quest

After the beefy 50+ hours of main story, you might think that there is nothing else for you to do but that’s where you are wrong. Metaphor Refantazio is packed to its ears with content and aside from the main plot, there are tons of side quests that you can pick up on after the end credits.

You might have picked up on a few of the side quests and helped a couple of NPCs but you will see that you have barely scratched the surface of what this game has to offer. So kick back and start exploring the United Kingdom of Euchronia.

2. Max All Bond Ranks

Metaphor ReFantazio

If you didn’t already know, there are 14 different characters that you will meet during your adventure and once you have unlocked them, you can recruit them to help you in your battle against the final boss. Building a strong bond with each character unlocks unique archetypes and significantly boosts your party’s stats for the final battle.

Every character’s bond has 8 levels and advancing these ranks unlocks special moves, attribute boosts, and the occasional exclusive items.

Maxing out these bonds takes quite a bit of time and you might not be able to do all of them on your first playthrough. Hence the post-game gives you a great opportunity to revisit some of these characters and learn more about their lore.

Once you’ve maxed out these levels, you can take on optional bosses and test your newly unlocked abilities.

3. Try the Regicide Difficulty

Metaphor ReFantazio Regicide Difficulty

Metaphor Refantazio lets you choose from 4 difficulty levels: Storyteller, Easy, Normal, and Hard. You can choose from the following based on your preference but once have beaten the final boss once, you will see that there is another option – Regicide.

This is going to be the hardest difficulty of the game. You might get one shot by bosses if you are not ranked appropriately, the bosses will exploit your weakness more proficiently, and you might not even receive rewards after completing a quest or defeating a boss.

If you are in for such a try-hard challenge then, this is the perfect way to put your skills to the test. Remember that you will get “tested” hard.

4. Start New Game+

What’s better than completing a masterpiece game? Replaying the whole thing again but if you are not ready to start from scratch, you can always go for NewGame+.

If you are not familiar with the concept then you should know that NG+ is essentially a second playthrough of the same game with all of your progression lost.

There is a twist though. All of the items that you collected on your first playthrough will still be there when you start the game again. Then what’s the challenge? Increased difficulty. NewGame+ will have a significantly higher skill ceiling and if you are expecting the same amount of challenge then you are in for a surprise.

5. Unlock the Remaining Trophies

Metaphor ReFantazio Trophy Unlocked

Most of the trophies in Metaphor Fantazio are tied to story progression and a big chunk of them will unlock automatically as you complete the main story. However, there are still some that you can only unlock either by collecting a specific item or completing a side quest.

If you are part of the 100% completionist club, you can wait before you take on Louis, go back and complete every object, and get each of those 44 trophies.

Either that or you can put Louis into the ground and explore Euchronia at your own pace, mopping up the remaining trophies without the constant threat of the final boss hanging over your head.

6. Combat Practice in Varmareno Coliseum

Metaphor ReFantazio Coliseum

You will unlock the Varmareno Coliseum pretty early on in the game more specifically in the Brilehaven arc. You will take on quite a few enemies there especially if you want to boost your courage stat without having to travel back and forth.

You can stay here, challenge different bosses, and easily level up your character and stats. If you have already completed every single challenge (I find that hard to believe) then there is not but if you haven’t, you can return post-game and complete the rest of the battle.

Since now you aren’t worried about completing the game, you can try stupid starts that you might not use under normal circumstances, let loose, and have some fun.

7. Witness Every Possible Ending

While there aren’t technically multiple endings, there is one good ending and some bad endings. While the dialogue choices are left to the player’s discretion, there are some crucial moments in the game where you have to make the right choices if you want a good ending.

Kudos to you if you got a good ending but trust us when we say that the remaining “bad” endings are also worth experiencing. So that’s something you can do after your first playthrough – experience every possible ending in Metaphor Refantazio.

8. Locate Every Golden Beetle

Golden Beetle

Golden Beetles are a collectible item in Metaphor Refantazio collecting which rewards you with different types of rewards.

You won’t receive a reward every time you collect one, but rather, you will receive something once you reach a certain milestone of Golden Beetles, such as once you collect 25 Beeltes, you will receive the Claw Breaker. 46 Golden Beetles reward you with Dragon’s Fall.

You can collect the Golden Beetles even after the completion of the main story. If you have some left, you can go back and grab those before you finally put the game an eternal rest.

9. Defeat Secret Bosses in Akademia

Metaphor ReFantazio Akademia

There is a secret boss in NewGame+ in Metaphor Refantazio that you can take on. It’s called the Red Dragon and you can find it in the Akademia. Enter the Akademia, walk up to the couches and there will be a red book.

Interacting with the book will initiate your battle with the Red Dragon. This is not going to be an easy battle by any means as the Dragon rests somewhere around level 70. Pack all of your best gear because you are in for one hell of a battle.

10. Collect All Remaining Treasures

Metaphor ReFantazio Treasure

There are quite a few dungeons in Refantazio and these dungeons hold a fair bit of loot. It is not uncommon to miss a few items on your first playthrough so why not go about it on your second playthrough?

Upon your return, you will see that there is still a lot of treasure and powerful weapons that you missed and it’s good that you are coming back as they might come in handy in NewGame+.

After the main story, Metaphor: ReFantazio offers an expansive world still ripe with secrets, side quests, and opportunities for mastery. It might take you a while to get all of it but eventually, you will explore all of the secrets burning deep underground.
