Being a hunter in Monster Hunter World is a jarring task. You have to combat and defeat monsters while giving it your all to become stronger. While the game features multiple methods of transportation, most of them can only be temporary.
Needless to say, the charm of the game stems from such intense environments and battles. With that said, using everything at your disposal comes with a price. There are some really great items out there that can be worth this price, but are their effects permanent?
Unfortunately, in-game items such as nutrients are only for temporary use. They help in buffing the max HP. However, the stat resets as soon as you die. Therefore, it is recommended to use them against tough foes since you can drink multiple of the same type.
With that said, it is possible to gain these Nutrients in bulk with the help of crafting and combining. While their rarity is not something to boast about, they are still considered some of the most useful in-game items.
How Do Nutrients Work in Monster Hunter World
The nutrient is a collectible resource in Monster Hunter Worlds that is mainly used by Hunters to improve their performance. Here is the official description for these Nutrients:
“Very slightly increases your maximum health level.
* Increases Max HP by 10 points.”
These Nutrients can be used in crafting the Mega Nutrients, which are essentially a more potent version of the base item.
How to Obtain and Craft Nutrients
Nutrients can be crafted by using the Bitterbugs and Blue Mushrooms as the base ingredients. Here is how you can obtain these materials:
Bitterbug
This is a pouch item and can be used to craft new items. You can obtain the Bitterbugs from the following quests:

Rotten Vale |
Elder’s Recess |
Blue Mushroom
The Blue Mushroom is a crafting ingredient that can be found from the following:
Quests | Locations |

Butting Heads with Nature | Wildspire Waste |
Fungal Flexin’ in the Ancient Fores | Coral Highlands |
A Thicket of Thugs | Rotten Vale |

Both of the mentioned items can be mixed together through the crafting mechanic to create as many nutrients as one might want. Needless to say, you can turn on automatic crafting while farming to manage your inventory.
All in all, there is no way to experience a permanent increase in health. The Health bar remains fixed throughout the game. While items like nutrients can offer a temporary increase, the bar will automatically reset once you die.
