From Software has produced some of the most evergreen games in the industry. Players are constantly flocking to play all of their games and there are even events planned by the community where they rally the fans to revisit one of the entries and rekindle their love for it, also to help out any new player looking to get into this genre. There is always a reason to play these games.
This everlasting love for the franchise is even true for the apparently worst entry in the series Dark Souls 2. The game received a lot of flak for changing up the formula set by the previous iterations but over the time the fans have begun to like it for what it is and is thus still thriving.
For those people who are looking to play Dark Soul 2 on their PS5, there is good news. As of right now, all of the Dark Souls titles are available on the current generation of the Play Station including Dark Souls 2.

Dark Souls 2 Release
Dark Souls 2 was the second entry to the critically acclaimed Dark Souls the spiritual successor of the cult classic Demon’s Souls. The game was launched on March 11, 2014, on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
A remastered version of the game, with an added title of Scholar of the First Sin, was released for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows in April 2015, this was for the inclusion of the then next-gen console PS4 and Xbox One.
This new version had tweaked a few issues with the game and shuffled some instances around. It also included the expansion added to the base game Crown of the Sunken King, Crown of the Old Iron King, and Crown of the Ivory King. It also featured upscaled visuals with better lighting effects, running at 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second, to capitalize on the latest console hardware.

Dark Souls 2, though was a commercial success, had some underlying problems that earned it the least favorite entry. The most well-known of it was that it wasn’t made with Miyazaki at its helm and the new directors were Tomohiro Shibuya and Yui Tanimura. They utilized their creative liberties and change up the game for better or for worse depending on the person you ask this question.
Dark Souls 2 on PS5
Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin on the PS4 is backward compatible with the PlayStation 5. Unlike most games in this generation having multiple graphical/performance options, there is just a single graphics display mode running 1080p resolution at locked 60 FPS, the default of the original game on the original consoles. Fans are clamoring for a 4K patch to be added for the PS5 even if they don’t include higher FPS modes but there is no news from the developers.
The game is available to be played on the PlayStation 5 but it doesn’t take advantage of the bells and whistles of the new hardware hence the experience is lacking. But for players that are coming in new or just want to keep this game alive in their libraries they have the option of backward compatibility.
