There are 2 types of card packs: Random card packs and card packs that let you choose a card. Generally, you should open the random packs and save the choosing packs for later because you won’t probably know what each card is good for when you get it.
It is a very complex system and someone could spend hours finding all the cards’ effects. You won’t know if you should pick a certain card because it might not be good for your character.
Where do you get card packs?
Card packs can be obtained by clearing dungeons, playing labyrinths, completing Raids, and from events and quests. You can also play gambling minigames for random card packs. Pretty much everything in the game will allow you to get these card packs.
Just be wary of PVP because some people spend hundreds of dollars to be the best at the game and it can get a little annoying when you don’t want to spend any money on it.
What is the purpose of card packs?
Card packs are used to upgrade your gear and weapons. These cards can be combined into a certain piece of gear, weapons, or armor you want to use for further benefits like enchantments.
Cards are important in Lost Ark. The game does not have traditional loot boxes which means that players can purchase cards with real money. Most of Lost Ark’s items are obtained by purchasing card packs, so there is a pay-to-win aspect to the game.
Just like other free-to-play games, Lost Ark sometimes offers card packs for free on special events where players can receive them without any cost. It is still a game where only your skill matters in the end, not how much money you spend on cards.

The Lost Ark Premium Pack is somewhere between the Explorer and Founder’s Pack in price. It includes $50 worth of in-game currency, 10 card packs with a unique emblem for your character, 30-day premium status, Lost Ark Messenger figure for your character, Lost Ark shirt, Lost Ark mug, and Lost Ark notebook.
