Let me get this off my chest right now. Performance is going to be abysmal. The best you’re going to do is 30-40 FPS on a good day. It’s not going to work like a finished product because it isn’t.
Currently, Sons of The Forest isn’t ready for the Steam Deck. Regardless, you can play the title from finish to end. A bit about the performance now. The game plays horribly on medium and you can visually see the handheld struggling to load in foliage. Expect around 25 FPS on medium settings, but it still doesn’t feel like 25.
Your best bet would be to turn settings all the way down. You’ll manage a solid 30 FPS this way, but the game still plays pretty choppy. For this, you need to turn down the texture resolution down to ⅛ .
