Once you have cleared a dungeon in Diablo 4 simply use the Emote Wheel to select the Leave Dungeon option. You might have to wait a few minutes and reenter the dungeon in order to reset it. Or you might have to leave the game after leaving the dungeon and start it again for the dungeon to reset.
Learn more about how Dungeons work in Diablo 4 and whether they reset once you complete them or not through this quick guide.
Why Reset Dungeons in Diablo 4
Dungeon farming offers an excellent opportunity to grind experience and loot drops before reaching Diablo 4’s endgame. The endgame itself centers around Dungeons, albeit in a different manner. Resetting a specific Dungeon multiple times is necessary if you wish to complete it repeatedly.
Fortunately, resetting them is not particularly challenging, although it does demand some patience. Alternatively, you can exploit the in-game party system to have them reset automatically. In this guide, we will discuss how to reset any Dungeon in Diablo 4 according to your preferences.
Resetting dungeons in Diablo 4 can be done either as a Solo or a Party/Co-op player:
Resetting Dungeons as a Solo Player
As a solo player, you can employ the following method to reset your preferred dungeon. You can reset every dungeon in the game using this method:
- Complete or do whatever you want in the Dungeon of your choosing.
- Once you are done, Leave the Dungeon. You must not use a portal to get out of the dungeon but rather leave it using:
- Open the Emote Wheel and select the Leave Dungeon option.
- Use the map and select the entrance icon of the Dungeon to leave.
- Or, simply walk out the door you entered the Dungeon.
- Once you are outside, wait a few minutes (for some it takes around 5-15 minutes while for others it is instantaneous) and enter the dungeon and it will have reset.
- If the waiting doesn’t work, Exit/Leave the game and Start the game again and the Dungeon would have reset. Please note, you don’t have to exit the game entirely just leave your current game only to the main menu and resume it again.
Keep repeating this process if you are on a solo dungeon-farming run.
Resetting Dungeons as a Party/Co-op Player
If you have a group of friends playing with you then resetting Dungeons becomes even more seamless. Apply the following steps:
- You need to be the Party Leader for this method to function.
- Complete the Dungeon with your party members first and get the loot.
- When you are done, simply select your character icon from the left side of the screen and select the Leave Party option.
- Doing so will boot you out of the Dungeon and disband your party member. You will be thrown right at the entrance of the Dungeon.
- From here, just reform your party and wait for the members to arrive and enter the Dungeon again and viola the dungeon would be reset for you to replay it.
Compared to the solo method, this is the fastest way to reset Dungeons in Diablo 4 and would come in quite handy if you are on a dungeon-farming binge.
Knowing how to reset dungeons can really alleviate the tedium of waiting around. It is mighty helpful if you are looking for leveling up and getting the best loot in the game. Just keep in mind that both these ways are currently working in the game but Blizzard can very well nerf it later down the line.
