Terraria is challenging, especially if it is your first time playing. One very important part of the game is the accessory slots because these are what give you bonuses to pretty much anything in the game. If you don’t have enough space for every accessory, you might wonder if there is a way to increase your number of lots.
There are only 2 ways to increase your accessory slots. Both are relatively similar, but you must play Expert Mode or Master Mode. If you are in those difficulties, once you beat the Wall of Flesh, you will earn an extra slot to put whatever you want into.
Yes, that is the only way to increase the number of slots you have. It is very difficult to play on those difficulties but believe me, the extra slot does help a lot, especially when you finally get into Hard Mode. Unfortunately, there is no way to get extra slots besides these 2 modes.
How to get more accessory slots?
As we said before, if you play in Expert Mode, you will get an item called the Demon Heart from killing the Wall of Flesh. This will allow you to add an extra accessory slot to your inventory. Remember that the slot will be gone if you take your character into a normal world. The slot is only there for Expert Mode worlds.
If you are playing in Master Mode, as soon as you defeat the Wall of Flesh, an accessory slot will be added to our inventory without using a Demon Heart. We don’t know why they did this, but it makes it a little easier so you don’t miss out on the item itself if multiple people are playing.
If you don’t want to play either of those modes, then sorry to break it to you, but you can’t get an extra slot. It does suck, but it is a reward for playing on a harder difficulty. We highly recommend you if you can play on either one because it is very challenging.
These slots are cosmetic only, making it look like you have different gear. If you don’t like the look of your currently equipped gear, you can hide it. If you like the look of another item but don’t like the stats it gives you, placing it in the social slot will give you the look while having a separate item equipped.
It is a great addition to the game, and it makes it so that you can make your character the way you want them to look without any repercussions with certain items. There are also social clothing slots, so you can have cosmetic items over gear that you might not like the look of.
If you find a cool-looking piece of gear or clothing, equip it to the social slot and throw in some Dyes to make it look unique.
