Guide Voodoo Doll
The Guide Voodoo Doll is a special summoning item for the Wall of Flesh boss. It is directly related to the Guide NPC in the game.
You need to throw this doll inside the lava in The Underworld for the Wall of Flesh boss to spawn. The Guide will be killed instantly once the doll is destroyed by the lava, and the boss will appear.
You can carry more than one doll at a time, with a maximum of 9,999. If you throw more than one doll in the lava then the Guide will be killed as intended and summon the boss, all the while killing a number of randomly selected NPCs in the world equal to the number of dolls you have thrown in the lava.
There is no reward or anything special that happens in throwing multiple dolls and killing NPCs, so it is best avoided.
Getting the Guide Voodoo Doll
To get your hands on the Guide Voodoo Doll, you need to find and kill Voodoo Demons in The Underworld. There is a guaranteed Guide Voodoo Doll drop from these enemies.
These enemies behave and look somewhat similar to regular Demon enemies found in this biome however, they have the doll dangling from their talons (as seen in the picture above).
The Voodoo Demon has a lower spawn rate than normal Demons thus, you are required to stick around a bit for them to show up.
One thing to consider when killing Voodoo Demons is that if they drop the doll directly into the lava when killed, it will unwittingly summon the Wall of Flesh boss. You need to make sure that no doll gets accidentally thrown into the lava if you are not prepared for the fight.
Farming Guide Voodoo Doll
You should consider these tips when farming Voodoo Guide Dolls:
- Try to find a large open area in The Underworld rather than small openings and nooks.
- Build a straight platform or cover every lava pit around you so that the doll doesn’t get dropped into the lava. A one-block thick bridge would suffice. This platform can also be used to fight the boss.
- Having summons on hand will make things easier.
- Putting down a Water Candle in this area will increase the enemy spawn rate. Consuming the Battle Potion will also attract more enemies.
- Stand in the middle and let the enemies come to you. Eventually, the Voodoo Demon will spawn, so make sure you kill them above the platform.
